We’re half way through January, and quickly progressing into the New Year! Are you sticking with your New Years resolution? I’ve especially noticed this week the number of people attending my local Gym steadily declining. Good for me to grab a machine easier, and bad for them because they couldn’t stick with the resolution! Such a shame to waste good money on those New Year’s gym membership deals as well.
I’m not saying that keeping a New Year’s Resolution is by any means easy, it really takes willpower and dedication. You have to really want that change, nobody and nothing can do it for you. However, having a strong presence of mind, staying focused on that goal, and most importantly, keeping in check your reasons for making this your goal in the first place will be your strongest assets above all else in this endeavor.
Your mental outlook on keeping your Resolution is more important than anything else, even if your goal is a physical change or result. ALWAYS stay positive, even when times seem grim. If you slip up, get up the next morning and try again. You can’t just let yourself decide to can your entire resolution because of a mistake, that’s simply called “Giving Up”. Always keep in mind that you’re only human! I also want to stress that if you want, or NEED to make a change in your life, don’t wait until New Years to start. You can make a change for the better starting tomorrow morning.
