Our lives are not easy-going any more, what with competition, inflation and, to top it all, recession. We are always racing against time and unmindful of our unhealthy lifestyle. We tell ourselves we need to slow down but, do we? No. Where’s the time to get that into action?!
I see this hectic lifestyle all around me and all the time and so, after some research, have come up with a set of rules that, we all know of but couldn’t be bothered converting them into practice. I plan to seriously observe these and shall put them into perspective for you, in case you are not doing them already.
Get Fit
It is stressed that daily exercise boosts the immune system, promotes healthy blood sugar levels and keeps depression at bay. So do yoga daily for 30 minutes and also take up walking and swimming. Aerobic exercise is also beneficial. Something like walking and running can improve your cardiovascular system and fight fatigue.
Sleep Sound
One of the biggest causes of low energy is lack of sleep. So, get your full quota of sleep every day. Even one night without enough sleep can keep you listless and tired all day.
Watch Your Weight
Beat cellulite by avoiding fatty foods. And exercise without missing out on even a day. It is believed that for every excess kilo you carry, you cut off 20 weeks of your life expectancy!
Diet Does Matter
Yes, diet does matter – a healthy diet is so essential for our healthy and long existence. Your diet can actually have an impact on your life span. So, eat right and live a long, healthy life. It is advised that the best foods for boosting energy levels are fruits, vegetables, whole grains and soy. Also include in your diet food like broccoli, watermelon, brussel sprout. These are said to contain antioxidants that will protect you from cancer.
Get A Pet
It is widely believed that keeping a pet can add a soothing touch to your life. Imagine your coming home after a hectic day at work and being greeted at the door by a cuddly spaniel or a furry cat! Will just drain all your fatigue away, won’t it? It is said that a well-trained cat or dog can have a calming effect on you and thus, keep your blood pressure in check.
Think Positive
Lastly but most importantly, being optimistic brings down those stress levels and makes for a calmer, smoother existence. A positive thought process does help in strengthening your immune system. So, out with that negativity!
These may be very common tips but essential and important for a healthy lifestyle. So, if you haven’t started following them already, then do so right away. Not much time is lost… yet!
