Get The Clutter Out Of Your Life!

Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom. - Buddha

The demands on our life seem to have suddenly shot up and we find ourselves in such a frenzy to get things done on time. There’s so much to do but such little time. A lot of us feel stressed and over-worked. This makes us impatient, frustrated and ill-tempered. We don’t even get the time to stop and think and, to meditate on the fact… that we need to slow down.
Meditation. Now, this is a great way of slowing down this frenetic pace. And it just requires 15 to 20 minutes of our time. A few minutes of deep breathing and reflecting within can do wonders for our body. Not only the physical but mental state of the body goes into relax mode. All negative thoughts make their way out. It throws the clutter out of your system. And then there is spiritual peace.
Meditation is a spiritual journey. Just as the body needs material food daily, the soul needs spiritual food which comes by way of meditation. And this is not about concentrating or doing something… it is about doing absolutely nothing and being aware of this. Enjoying this state of nothingness and arousing your sensory perceptions to this facet. Meditation is only about connecting to the self.
Take 20 minutes out from your hectic schedule and that would not be asking for too much, would it? Begin the proceedings with 3 to 4 minutes of deep breathing – deep inhales and noisy exhales. This is going into breathing mode.
After around 10 breathe-ins and –out, go into the observant mode. Detach yourself complete from the body and just focus on the mind – of the thoughts that enter and leave it. Do not dwell on the thoughts but just ‘watch’ them.
Then gradually and slowly, move out of this mode and get into relax mode. Imagine you are in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by streams and water cascading down rocks. Just concentrate on those imaginary sounds. If possible, put on some Zen music… it has an excellent effect on the nerves and helps you actually feel your surroundings.
Then go back into breathing mode.
And sit back and enjoy the effect of these few minutes on your entire day. Amazing!
