Helpful Tips on Avoiding the Flu.

Hello digital followers! We would like to wish everyone a happy new year from Health Products For You. Now that we are in the middle of January and the weather is getting worse and worse we all know what is coming. Flu season is here. We have all had it, or at least know someone who has had it. And whichever person you are, there is one thing we can all agree on. No one wants to get the Flu! I am writing this article to provide our readers with a few quick tips on how to avoid the flu.

First and foremost, the best way to avoid getting the flu is to get your flu shot. There is no better way to avoid this sickness. Not everyone is a proper candidate to receive a flu shot so I would suggest consulting your physician. But it has never been easier to get yourself a flu shot. They offer them at pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreen’s now at very low prices. So find out if you are eligible and get yourself that shot!

If you are not a suitable candidate or you have an issue with the flue shot do not fear, there are other options. The first thing to do would be to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Also, if you are not the sickly one you should definitely remind other around you to practice proper hygiene when coughing and sneezing. The airborne bacteria can be the quickest way to spread the flu. So cover your mouth if you are sick and don’t infect everyone else.

The second most important tip is also a hygiene matter. WASH YOUR HANDS! Germs are everywhere. Doorknobs, keyboards, ATM’s and anything public is a hot bed of bacterial activity. Washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your face after touching a possibly infected public item can really decrease your chances of contracting the flu. A good alternative is carrying around a bottle oh hand sanitizer. Also, use sanitizing wipes in your home. Doorknobs, faucet knobs, and really any knobs that people regularly touch

The most common sense tip is sometimes the most important. It might sound ridiculous, but avoiding contact with infected people is an excellent way to not get sick. Even if people tell you they are over their flu or that they are totally fine, use your better judgment. Rather than visit your sick friends or loved ones, just send them a card or some soup. It is a good idea to try not to share drinks or food with anyone for a while in order to avoid the transfer or germs. So basically, stay away from the sick. This is a very simple method, yet very effective.

Now, if you do end up getting sick here are a few tips to protect those around you and get you better quickly. First of all stay home! Going to work or out in the world is a bad idea for everyone. Not only are you going to make yourself worse and exhausted but you are going to infect others. Stay home and get better. The best thing to do is get plenty of sleep, the more the better. Also eat healthy (soup is always a favorite but a broth is best, nothing with a cream base as it aggravates congestion) and drink lots and lots of fluids. Eating a healthy well balanced diet with lots of vitamin c will help your health improve faster and fight off further infection.

So in conclusion, get your flu shots of you can people. If you can avoid getting sick, I suggest that you do so. The flu is a miserable week or more, and usually ends up infecting an entire household or workplace. The best way to avoid that is to avoid getting sick in the first place. If you cannot get the flu shot or refuse to do so, remember these tips. Practice good hygiene, stay away from sick people and if you do get sick stay home and take care of yourself.
