Dorm Safety
With a brand new year of College starting, millions of eager freshmen would have left the guidance of their parents for the first time, and started living in a college dorm. Essentially, they’re going to be going a tad bit wild as they learn their bearings, get comfortable with their new surroundings, meet new friends and make the adjustments for living away from home. With all of this in mind, are they going to be properly caring for themselves hygienically? ... read more...Posted: Thursday, September 10, 2009 1:39PM by Alex Spitzenberger |

Obesity linked to Cancer!
As someone who used to be overweight, 350Lbs to be exact, I can empathize with the feelings and emotions that one commonly experiences with obesity. However, a recent report now shows that obesity is also directly linked with increasing your chances of developing all types of cancers ... read more...Posted: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 3:12AM by Alex Spitzenberger |

Could your chair be your worst enemy?
Can having a desk job be shortening your life? Unfortunately, yes, according to a new research study released at the beginning of this month. Researchers took a look at just how much time in a chair people were spending over a 12 year period, and concluded that those who spent most of their time in a chair on most of their days, died earlier and with more pain than people who live an active life-style. ... read more...Posted: Monday, November 16, 2009 9:38PM by Alex Spitzenberger |

Stick with that Resolution!
We’re half way through January, and quickly progressing into the New Year! Are you sticking with your New Years resolution? I’ve especially noticed this week the number of people attending my local Gym steadily declining. Good for me to grab a machine easier, and bad for them because they couldn’t stick with the resolution! Such a shame to waste good money on those New Year’s gym membership deals as well. ...

Happy Living - It may be just out of reach!
Hey Folks! Here we are in March, and I feel confident saying we’re all probably on the same page with hoping warmer weather comes our way soon! Anyways, March is National Nutrition Month, and this got me thinking. Keeping good nutrition is a key part of living a healthy lifestyle, along with of course proper exercise. However, an often overlooked and highly important factor is one’s mental healthiness. Your personal happiness may be having more of an effect that you realize. ...

Going Green; Can it lower your energy bill?
One of the things that I’ve been keeping a very close eye on recently has been the “Going Green” craze that’s sweeping the United States over the past years. I fully support this, because regardless of what your opinions may be on Global Warming, The Environment, or Going Green as a whole, one fact is certain. We need to start looking at, and using alternative energy options, for both cost effectiveness, and the health of the world. ... read more...Posted: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 8:41PM by Alex Spitzenberger |

Did you sleep well?
It happens to all of us, and for many of us, far more than we would like. The dreaded night of tossing and turning, consistent pillow fluffing, and hours of staring at the ceiling. You know that you’re going to go through work or school the next day feeling like an absolute Zombie, but you may be thinking: “What can I really do about it”? ... read more...Posted: Thursday, April 29, 2010 9:07PM by Alex Spitzenberger |

The Earth is Sick
The Earth is sick. Like every other American, I’m disgusted and saddened by the Oil Spill crisis in the Gulf. Viewing satellite images from space of the spill, it is nothing short in resemblance to that of a cancer, ever growing on the face of our great planet and home. ... read more...Posted: Wednesday, June 2, 2010 4:45PM by Alex Spitzenberger |

Safe Fruits and Veggies
Howdy folks, I hope that everyone has been enjoying their summer to their fullest ability, over here in Connecticut we've had some beautiful weather lately, and hey, even the thunder storms have been incredible to watch as well! One of my favorite things about summer is simply sitting outside and enjoying a nice big bowl of fruits and vegetables. ... read more...Posted: Saturday, July 17, 2010 3:04PM by Alex Spitzenberger |
